KifKif – money on equal terms for everyone
KifKif comes from a Moroccan Arabic expression that roughly means “the same” or “alike”. My Moroccan family uses it a lot, and I think it is a beautiful expression. To me it symbolises the idea that all people are of equal worth and should have the same chance to understand and shape their everyday finances.
The Dala horse is also an important symbol to me. It represents Sweden, the country I come from, and is associated with Swedish tradition and culture. Together, KifKif and the Dala horse represent two lovely parts of my family’s background. They remind me how different cultures can meet and how we, despite our differences, share many of the same needs and dreams. One of them is feeling safe and making everyday life work.
You should not have to understand complicated terms like gross, net and interest, or log in to your bank and go through account history, to keep track of your money. For many people that brings stress, anxiety and headaches, and I want to make it easier.
My goal is to make everyday money simple, fun and anxiety-free. KifKif should help people keep track of their money, plan their week and find tips, ideas and recipes that fit their everyday life and budget.
We also want to make the app accessible to as many people as possible through different aids, such as larger text, text read aloud, hidden numbers and taking things a little slower, one step at a time. That way we want to create a simpler and more accessible experience for people with different needs and circumstances.
Because money is not just about numbers. It is about making everyday life work, feeling safe and being able to make better decisions without feeling overwhelmed.
To me, understanding finance should not be a requirement for having control over your money. It should be something everyone gets the chance to have, in their own way and at their own pace.
KifKif is about community, accessibility and the chance for everyone to take control of their everyday finances. One step at a time.
